N°01 — Why Arbor House
Arbor House didn’t begin with a business plan. It began more than ten years ago, when my family entered the NDIS.
N°02 — A new language, overnight
As a mother, I found myself learning a new language almost overnight.
Funding. Reports. Therapists. Support workers. Reviews. Plans. Appointments.
Every decision felt too important to get wrong.
For more than a decade, I’ve walked beside my son — coordinating his supports, advocating for him, celebrating his progress, navigating setbacks, and searching for people who genuinely cared. That journey changed me. It shaped the way I see people. It also shaped everything Arbor House would one day become.
N°03 — Beyond the plan
Caring for my son taught me how to navigate the NDIS.
But more importantly, it taught me something the NDIS never could.
Behind every plan is a person.
And behind every person is a story no report could ever fully tell.
Over the years, I’ve come to understand that people aren’t just looking for information or someone to manage their supports. They’re looking for someone who can help life feel a little less overwhelming.
Because beneath the paperwork, the appointments and the funding, people are often carrying…
Grief. Exhaustion. Fear. Loneliness. Loss. Big life changes. Or simply the weight of trying to hold everything together.
Sometimes they’re parents doing everything they can for someone they love. Sometimes they’re family members trying to hold everything together. Sometimes they’re adult participants navigating the world on their own.
Every story is different. But underneath each one is the same hope. To feel understood. To know someone is on their side.
That is the person I meet first.
Not the diagnosis. Not the funding. The person.
N°04 — What I believe
I don’t believe great Support Coordination is measured by how many providers someone has.
I believe it’s measured by how someone feels.
Do they feel heard? Understood? Less overwhelmed? Do they know someone is genuinely looking out for them?
When people feel safe and supported, better decisions become possible—and life can begin to feel lighter.
That’s the support I wanted for my own family. It’s the support I believe every person deserves.
N°05 — Small by design
Arbor House will never be about building the biggest business.
It will always be about meaningful relationships. I keep my caseload intentionally small so I can know every person I support, remember the details, notice when something changes and be available when life becomes complicated.
Support should never feel rushed or transactional. Trust isn’t built through systems. It’s built through people.
When we work together…
Everyone deserves someone in their corner.
This is Arbor House. A place where people come to feel understood. A place where some of the weight can finally be put down. A place where dignity, trust and thoughtful support come first.
I’m an independent Support Coordinator based in Melbourne, supporting participants and families both locally and across Australia. I intentionally work with a small number of participants so I can provide thoughtful, responsive support when it’s needed most.
